We're Back

It’s hard to believe that it’s been Four months since I posted last. For those of you who don’t know, back in May I moved from Southern California to my home state of Rhode Island. If you have ever moved even just down the street, you know how much of a pain it can be, never mind moving across the country. Aside from getting yourself and all your possessions from point A to point B, it takes time to adjust. After a few months, I finally feel like I’m back in the swing of things and I’m stoked for what that means for New School Bass.

If you have been following along on instagram, you know I have been fishing a lot. The Largemouth Bass fishing in RI is great, there are tons of bodies of water all over the state and plenty of great fisheries close by. While the Northern Strain Bass don’t get as big as their southern counterparts, they are a fun fighting fish and absolutely a blast to catch. There are also some great Smallie fisheries close by as well and although I haven’t hit any of them yet I have plans to in the near future.

The body of water that I have been fishing the most is a small lake in southern Rhode Island. The lake is mainly spring fed, has a creek flowing in and out, and has your typical varities of freshwater species including Largemouth Bass, Pickeral, Sunfish, Perch, and some Catfish. A property on the lake has been in my family for over 50 years, so I am super lucky to have a place to stay right on the water. It’s amazing having great fishing so easily accessible. The lake hardly gets any pressure and the fishing can be down right ridiculous at times. Being this close to the water has some huge benefits and it’s something that I will never take for granted especially after spending the last few years not being able to fish as much as I wanted. Being originally from Rhode Island, it’s great to be back around the homies I grew up fishing with. There are a lot of great anglers here that I am super excited to introduce you guys to and some faces you will get used to seeing.

Being this close to the water and having the opportunity to fish almost every day is something I’m super excited about, I mean what angler wouldn’t be. Moving forward, I will definitely be using this to my advantage and creating a ton of content for you guys right here at home. I have a few projects in the works as well as some epic fishing trips planned, including hitting the salt and Rhode Island’s amazing Striper fishery. I also plan on continuing the New School Nation series, so keep an eye out for the next installment in the following weeks.

Finally, I wanted to take a second to thank you guys for the continued support. Over the last few months, as I moved and adjust to life on the East Coast. I wanted to step back from the site a little bit and return when I felt like I could give it the attention you guys deserve. So one more time, THANK YOU. You guys keep me fired up to fish and create and I am super thankful for that. Now that I am back in the swing of things, I’m more stoked then ever to get back to business. So I will leave it at that, tight lines and good luck out there!
