Changes to Striped Bass Regulations

The other night, I was scrolling through the Fly Lords Mag website, I was looking for a little late night hype for the following days fishing trip when I noticed a recent article titled, NOAA Threatens to Weaken Striped Bass Regulations”. As some of you may know, I was born and raised in Rhode Island. If there is one notable fishery in RI, it would definitely have to be Striper. Striper fishing in Rhode Island is phenomenal to say the least. Starting in the early spring with the worm hatch, great striper fishing continues through the Summer and ends in the Autumn with an often epic fall run.

Opening Day on Lake Barrett, San Diego is Approaching

If your at all into trophy bass fishing then you know that San Diego, California is a hot bed for some of the biggest LMB in the country. Southern California lakes and reservoirs are stocked with trout and the warm year round climate makes a great habitat for Florida strain Large Mouth. The combination makes for some seriously big fish, including several bass weighing up to 20lbs. With so many big fish in the area its rare to see the ever popular Barrett Lake in the news.
