Read MoreThe last Two weeks, my time on the water has been limited. At first I was too busy to really notice, but after a week of no fishing, I was starting to get a little antsy. By Wednesday of week Two, I was getting texts from my good friend and fishing buddy Evan (@bassfactory101), saying the lake was on fire. He was out there catching multiple limits, 20-30 fish a day and I was stuck watching him slay from Instagram. By Friday, I couldn’t take it anymore. I cut my work week short and met him at the lake around noon.
Read MoreHistorically for me, fishing in the late Summer/Early Fall has been a difficult time of the year to catch Bass. The long days of Summer are mostly over, but the chill of Fall isn't in full effect. It can be tough to find fish and even harder to catch them. Despite the difficult fishing, I have always enjoyed this time of year. I love a good challenge and catching transitional Bass is one of them. Over the years, through many failed attempts I have learned a few techniques that seem to do the trick, or at least help catch a limit during this tough time of year. Weather patterns and lake conditions vary and I must say, most of these techniques pertain to my experience fishing for Northern Strain Bass in the north east.

Monetary and financial burdens of the adult world suffocate the time and will to pursue the things that I am most passionate about. Through out my life fishing has always been one of those passions. The opportunity to be outdoors, crafting a skill in search of that one big catch or just a lazy day on the pond dropping a line with friends is second to none.

Read MoreLast weekend, we hit lake Otay Lake in Southern California for some memorial day weekend bass fishing. Evan and I got on the water around 6am. I fished with him until 3pm and he stayed on the water for the full day. We started the morning with a quick limit on jerk baits and drop shots and spent the afternoon tossing swimbaits and jigs, looking for a bigger bite. The swimbait bite paid off for Evan in the afternoon when he landed a 5lber. We will be back this weekend, searching for that giant. In the mean time, check out this video from the morning last weekend and a few photos from our time on the water.
